The Right to Information (RTI) Act was passed in the year 2005.
The Right to Information Act was passed by the Indian Parliament on 12th May 2005. It received Presidential assent on 15th June 2005 and came into force on 12th October 2005. This act provides every citizen in India the legal right to access information from the government to promote transparency and accountability.
