How to delete a Facebook account permanently?
To permanently delete your Facebook account:
- Log in to Facebook.
- Tap or click your profile picture.
- Go to Settings & Privacy → Settings.
- Open Accounts Center.
- Select Personal details.
- Tap Account ownership and control.
- Choose Deactivation or deletion.
- Select the Facebook account you want to delete.
- Choose Delete account (not “Deactivate account”).
- Tap Continue and follow the prompts, including entering your password to confirm.

Before deleting, keep in mind:
- Download a copy of your photos, videos, and other data if you want to keep them.
- You will lose access to Facebook Messenger linked to that account.
- Apps or websites where you signed in using Facebook may stop working until you change the login method.
- You can cancel the deletion by logging back into your account within 30 days. After that, the deletion becomes permanent, although complete removal from backups may take up to 90 days.
