How to screenshot on Mac Air?
On a MacBook Air, there are several built-in keyboard shortcuts for taking screenshots:
- Capture the entire screen: Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 3. The screenshot is saved to your desktop by default (or another location if you’ve changed the setting).
- Capture a selected portion: Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 4. Your cursor becomes a crosshair. Click and drag to select the area you want, then release to take the screenshot.
- Capture a specific window: Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 4, then press the Spacebar. The cursor changes to a camera. Click the window you want to capture.
- Open the Screenshot toolbar: Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 5. This brings up a toolbar with options to:
- Capture the full screen
- Capture a selected window
- Capture a selected portion
- Record the entire screen
- Record a selected portion
- Change where screenshots are saved, set a timer, and other options
If you want to copy the screenshot to the clipboard instead of saving it as a file, hold the Control key along with any of the shortcuts above. For example:
- Control + Shift + Command (⌘) + 3 copies a full-screen screenshot to the clipboard.
By default, screenshots are saved as PNG files and appear on the Desktop unless you’ve changed the save location.
