Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Fiancée Siya Goyal, Lover Sent to Police Custody Till June 29

Pune Court Grants Police Custody as Investigators Probe Alleged Pre-Planned Murder at Lohagad Fort

In a sensational murder case that has shocked Maharashtra, a Pune Magistrate Court has remanded Siya Goyal, fiancée of deceased businessman Ketan Agarwal, and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary to police custody until June 29, 2026. The duo has been accused of conspiring to murder 26-year-old real estate director Ketan Agarwal by allegedly pushing him into a deep gorge at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala.

From “Accidental Fall” to Murder Investigation

The case initially appeared to be a tragic trekking accident. On June 18, Ketan Agarwal reportedly fell from Lohagad Fort during an outing with his fiancée. However, subsequent investigation by Pune Rural Police uncovered evidence suggesting that the fall was not accidental but the result of a pre-planned murder conspiracy.

Police allege that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary deliberately lured Ketan to the fort and pushed him into a gorge nearly 400 feet deep, leading to his death.

Court Sends Accused to Police Custody

During proceedings on Tuesday, the prosecution argued that custodial interrogation was necessary to investigate the alleged conspiracy, gather digital evidence, verify communications between the accused, and establish the sequence of events leading to Ketan’s death. The court subsequently granted police custody of both accused until June 29.

Alleged Motive: Secret Relationship

Investigators claim Siya Goyal was involved in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary and no longer wished to marry Ketan Agarwal. According to police, Ketan had become an obstacle to their relationship, leading to the alleged conspiracy.

The victim and Siya were reportedly scheduled to marry next month, and preparations for a lavish wedding were already underway.

Police Suspect Multiple Failed Attempts Before Murder

The investigation has revealed allegations of earlier unsuccessful attempts to kill Ketan before the fatal incident. Police believe the accused made multiple attempts at Lohagad Fort before eventually succeeding on June 18. One alleged attempt involved pushing Ketan under the pretext of warning him about a snake after he survived the initial fall.

Authorities are also examining reports regarding a cancelled Bali trip and a missing passport, which investigators believe may be linked to the broader conspiracy.

Family’s Suspicion Triggered Probe

Ketan Agarwal’s family reportedly refused to accept the death as a mere accident and pressed for a thorough investigation. Their insistence, coupled with inconsistencies in the statements provided by the accused, led investigators to re-examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ketan’s mother has publicly demanded strict punishment for those responsible, alleging that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary conspired to murder her son.
