Police Tighten Security Around NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Centres in Telangana; Assure Smooth Travel for Candidates
Telangana Police have significantly strengthened security arrangements across National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 re-examination centres ahead of the nationwide re-test scheduled for June 21. Authorities have assured candidates and their parents that elaborate measures are in place to ensure safe, hassle-free travel and a fair examination process.
The enhanced security measures come amid heightened vigilance following the controversy surrounding the earlier NEET UG 2026 examination. Across Telangana, police personnel have been deployed at examination centres, transportation hubs, and key traffic junctions to facilitate smooth movement of candidates. Special traffic management plans have been implemented to prevent congestion around examination venues and ensure timely arrival of students.
Officials stated that close coordination has been established between the police department, district administration, education authorities, and transport agencies. Candidates have been advised to leave early for their examination centres, carry valid admit cards and identification documents, and follow all examination guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Nationwide, the NTA has implemented an unprecedented multi-layer security framework that includes CCTV surveillance, biometric verification, strict frisking procedures, secure transportation of question papers, and continuous monitoring of examination activities. A nationwide mock drill was conducted on June 20 to test preparedness and identify any logistical gaps before the examination day.
Authorities have emphasized that maintaining the integrity of the examination remains the highest priority. Security agencies, including central and state forces, have been placed on alert to prevent any irregularities and ensure a transparent examination process. Similar arrangements have been implemented in several states, reflecting the government’s determination to restore public confidence in one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations.
With over 22 lakh aspirants expected to participate in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination across the country, Telangana Police have urged candidates to remain calm, avoid misinformation circulating on social media, and rely only on official communications from the NTA and government authorities. Officials expressed confidence that the examination would be conducted smoothly, securely, and without disruption.
